Kvadrat & Adidas Combine Forces
Nerding out - Our fav textile company partners up with our fav shoe brand.
Published On: 12/09/17
The Adidas Stan Smith shoe is about as simple as a shoe can get. The shoe and its numerous variations have been around for over 40 years. Most recently, Adidas has linked up with our favourite textile company, Kvadrat.
Kvadrat was established in Denmark in 1968 and has deep roots in Scandinavia’s design tradition. They hold the leading position in Europe’s high-quality textile market and supply architect, designers (such as us) and private consumers across the world. Their textiles have been used in some of the world’s most important architectural landmarks.
According to Adidas, the overarching theme for this three-sneaker collection is Copenhagen’s combination of “utilitarian design, Japanese aesthetic and modernist values.”
The release shows three variations of the Stan Smith, using Kvadrat’s contemporary fabric squares by Danish designer Vibeke Rohland countered with embroidered details of the 3-stripes mark and a contrast leader heel patch.
- Textile upper
- Embroidered 3-Stripes
- Stan Smith logo on tongue and detail at the heel
- OrthoLite® insole for comfort and optimum damping
