As a true representation of successful amalgamation between concept and execution, let us introduce you to Malmö Cutlery Set designed by Portuguese designer Miguel Flores Soeiro and manufactured by the Portuguese cutlery company Herdmar. It offers a sleek design without sacrificing comfortability, familiarity, and most importantly, function.
Named after Sweden’s capital, Malmö Cutlery Set is reminiscent of Santiago Calatrava’s Turning Torso Tower with its twist as the main feature. The twist creates a larger surface area on the handle allowing more pressure to be applied when cutting, and making the fork and spoon easier to grasp. With the handles being bent at 90 degrees to the head of each utensil, the flat section remains upright when the cutlery is laid horizontal. When stacked it all fits perfectly together adding the appearance of organization to every kitchen drawer.
Half a year after the release of this collection Malmö was nominated for the German Design Award 2015 in the category of Excellent Product Design and also won the IF Design Award prize 2015.

Made of 18/10 stainless steel, the pieces are produced using a cold moulding technique and are dishwasher-friendly. Finished in PVD titanium coatings, they are available in copper, gold, chocolate or black with your choice of matt or gloss finish.
